Komodo Night

The Real Wonder of the World will also present  Komodo Nights scheduled to take place in Sydney and Chicago. The events are also aimed to galvanize participation from the media, individuals, zoologist, naturalist, travel agents, travel writer, bloggers, airline, non-profit originations, Marine Biologist, traveler, backpacker, diver, and Friends of Komodo in the world, particularly in the United State and Australia.

Located between Indonesian islands of Flores and Sumbawa, komodo National Park consists of three big islands: Komodo, Rinca and Padar Island. The park is famous for its pre-historic Komodo Dragons, which 3000 of them could only be found in this area of the world.

Other than being the natural habitat of Komodo, the park is also home to one of the richest marine environments in the world, with at least 1,000 fish species, hundreds species of coral, 70 types of sponge, 19 whales and dolphin species, and there are also planktons which serve as the main food of mantra birostis an exotic fish potential to become the marine icon in Komodo National Park. For divers, the beauty of the underwater diversity in this region has made the island of the best place in the world.

Komodo and its surrounding islands were designated as a National Park in 1980. In 1996 UNESCO declared the Park as a “World Nature Heritage Site,” with the further designation of “Men and Biosphere.”

Komodo Night in Sydney

This real Jurassic Park will be the center of attention at the “Komodo Night in Sydney,” held in Opera Point Marquee at Sydney Opera House, on September 9, 2011, from 6.00 – 8.30 pm.

The event is part of “Komodo: the Real Wonder of the World” program, which is a campaign by Friends of Komodo to promote Komodo dragons in Komodo National Park. Held in Bali, Sydney and Chicago, the event will feature exhibition, video screening, testimonials, as well as exotic ethnic jazz performance by Flavius Nestor Embun Man (also known as Ivan Nestorman from Flores) featuring Dira Sugandi (Indonesian born soul/jazz vocalist, based in London).

The event is part of “Komodo: the Real Wonder of the World” program, which is a campaign by Friends of Komodo to promote Komodo dragons in Komodo National Park. Held in Bali, Sydney and Chicago, the event will feature exhibition, video screening, testimonials, as well as exotic ethnic jazz performance by Nita Aartsen Quattro.
